KKR Sign Luvnith Sisodia After Pathirana Injury Blow in IPL 2026
Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) have announced the signing of wicketkeeper-batter Luvnith Sisodia as a replacement for injured fast bowler Matheesha Pathirana for the remainder of the TATA IPL 2026 season.
Pathirana, one of KKR’s pace options this season, has been ruled out after suffering a hamstring injury, forcing the franchise to make an important squad adjustment ahead of the final phase of the tournament.
To strengthen their lineup, KKR have brought back Luvnith Sisodia, a young wicketkeeper-batter who has previously been associated with both Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) and Kolkata Knight Riders in the IPL.
Representing Karnataka in domestic cricket, Sisodia has played 15 T20 matches so far and is known for his fearless batting style at the top order. KKR management reportedly sees him as a promising backup option capable of providing aggressive starts when needed.
The young batter joins Kolkata Knight Riders for approximately USD 360 as the franchise continues its campaign for another IPL title.
With injuries beginning to impact several teams late in the season, squad depth could become one of the biggest deciding factors in IPL 2026.
