Luka Modrić Continues with AC Milan: Croatian Legend Ready for Another Season
AC Milan will continue their journey with Luka Modrić, with the Croatian veteran remaining an important part of the Rossoneri midfield for the new season.
Even at 40, Modrić continues to show the technical quality, composure and tactical intelligence that have defined his career. Under head coach Rúben Amorim, his experience is expected to remain valuable as Milan prepare for another demanding campaign.
Modrić Remains a Key Figure in Milan's Midfield
During his first season in Italy, Modrić quickly became one of Milan's most influential midfielders. He made 37 appearances, including 32 starts, playing 2,864 minutes while contributing two goals and three assists.
His influence went far beyond goals and assists. Modrić completed 2,257 passes and remained central to Milan's build-up play, using his vision and passing range to control the tempo of matches.
He also made Serie A history by becoming the oldest midfielder to score in the Italian top flight at 40 years and five days, surpassing a long-standing record held by former Milan great Nils Liedholm.
Experience for Amorim's New Milan
Modrić's role may be managed more carefully under Amorim, but his importance to the squad remains clear. His ability to dictate play and stay composed under pressure gives Milan an experienced option for crucial moments.
His presence could also play an important role in the development of younger midfielders, who now have the opportunity to learn alongside one of the finest playmakers of his generation.
Modrić turns 41 on 9 September, but his ambition remains unchanged. After a disappointing end to last season, the Croatian will be looking to help the Rossoneri challenge for major honours once again.
For AC Milan, the message is simple: the Modrić chapter is not over yet.
