Dillon Brooks Signs 3-Year, $73 Million Extension With Phoenix Suns

The Phoenix Suns have secured a key part of their future after agreeing to a three-year, $73 million contract extension with Dillon Brooks.

The new deal will keep the veteran forward in Phoenix through the 2029-30 NBA season, giving the Suns long-term stability as they continue building their new-look roster.

Brooks Earns New Deal After Career-Best Season

Brooks joined Phoenix during the 2025-26 season after spending two years with the Houston Rockets.

The nine-year NBA veteran quickly became an important part of the Suns' rotation, appearing in 56 games and averaging a career-high 20.2 points per game.

His increased offensive production, combined with his aggressive defensive approach and physical style of play, made him a valuable part of Phoenix's identity.

Before agreeing to the extension, Brooks was preparing to enter the final season of the four-year, $86 million contract he originally signed with Houston in 2023.

The new three-year agreement now keeps him under contract through 2030.

Suns Continue to Secure Their Core

Phoenix has spent much of the offseason building stability around the squad that returned to the NBA Playoffs last season.

The Suns have also worked to secure players including Collin Gillespie, Jordan Goodwin and Mark Williams on long-term deals.

Phoenix further reshaped the roster by acquiring Miles Bridges, adding another experienced forward to the rotation.

Keeping Brooks is another sign that the Suns want to maintain a competitive core rather than begin another major rebuild.

Phoenix Looking for a Deeper Playoff Run

The Suns entered a new phase after moving on from Kevin Durant and returned to the playoffs as the No. 8 seed in the Western Conference.

Their postseason run ended quickly, however, as the Oklahoma City Thunder swept Phoenix in the opening round.

Brooks was still able to make an impact during the series, including a playoff career-high 33-point performance.

With Brooks now secured through 2029-30, Phoenix can focus on taking the next step.

The challenge for the Suns in the 2026-27 NBA season will be turning their improved stability and defensive identity into a stronger position in the Western Conference — and, ultimately, a deeper playoff run.
